The world record for the highest altitude free fall jump belongs to former Google executive, Alan Eustace. His total free fall duration was 4 minutes and 27 seconds from the top of the stratosphere. He set the altitude record of 41.4 kms. above the Earth’s surface for his jump, after being powered up by a helium balloon. This successful record set on 24th October, 2014 eclipsed the previous record held by Felix Baumgartner, who reached a launch point of 34.7 kms. for his free fall jump in 2012.
Balloons in their various forms were invented for use in military communications, scientific experimentation and transportation. The balloons, which we use for decoration purposes in parties are filled with air. The air pressure inside the balloon is higher than the surrounding air, which makes it denser. Since they are comparatively heavier, they tend to fall down on the ground. There is a second variety known as gas balloons. Such balloons rise in the air, since they are filled with a gas lighter than air (like Hydrogen and Helium). The gas balloons will never come down, even if we try to use force to push them downward.
The human mind is the seat of all kinds of colorful emotions. We keep feeling positive and negative emotions, at varying intensities in our lives. If one can observe closely, they are interestingly juxtaposed in all our worldly transactions. We feel lighter when our mind waxes in the midst of positive emotions like compassion, empathy, gratitude, kindness, peace, love and so on. The external world remaining the same, we feel heavier at times, when our mind wanes with negative emotions like anger, hatred, jealousy, envy, greed and so on.
Life takes on a higher meaning, the moment we start thinning down our individual ego and fill ourselves with positive emotions. The negative emotions can never be eliminated completely but can be reduced to such a negligible extent, that they become harmless to us and the world around.
